So I was just on the Apple site and apparently when you're in the USA you can only use an iPhone with an AT&T plan???
I thought the US was about choice, you know, 500 different kind of cereal in the supermarket, 600 different flavours of toothpaste.
So you HAVE to be with AT&T? WTF? Is that even legal?

Well the only other network it will work with is T Mobile, and there 3G support is still pretty terrible, from my experience.

The big competitor to AT&T in the states is Verizon. The problem is they use a completely different kind of communication link. So it's not a matter of Apple just kicking down iPhones to Verizon. They would have to have a completely different chip in them. Forgive my lack of technical jargon in my response.

And it's perfectly legal. Your choice is to just buy a different phone. It's not a monopoly.

I'm extremely impressed with the Evo, and unless something better comes along, when my AT&T contract is up in November, I'm dumping the iPhone for the Evo. Long live Android.

That's what I don't like about Android phones. Droid X, Galaxy S, Evo are all Fuckin Huge! Give me something I can fit in my damn pocket that still performs. Nothing on the market with the size and power I want except the Iphone unfortunately.

They're not that big. Droid was fat and not the best. But HTC has a bunch of phones that are both small and functional.
