Barebones Alternative to Live?
I use Live at home and have for years, but sometimes at work when I have downtime I just wanna write a song, chord progression, melodies, etc... I don't need a million instruments and serious production capabilities just something bare bones to mess around in. Of course I want to be able to save the midi files and take them home and put them into live. You guys use anything cheap or free to do this? I don't want to shell out for another license for Live.

Mac suggestions would be appreciated... but feel free to list others as I'm sure more than myself would be interested in answers.

Why do you care why? I see that I have come to the wrong place to ask a simple question. I remember now why I don't hang out on these message boards.
