Iphone OS4.1

Post by nebulae » Fri Sep 10, 2010 5:24 pm

http://theappleblog.com/2010/09/09/ipho ... -1-update/

I downgraded from an unusable iphone 3g running OS4 to OS3.1.3 and have been happy...haven't missed all the OS4 features on my iphone 3G.

So it seems that 4.1 was released to fix the 4.0.2 issues with the 3G and older models. However, while better, it's still not as fast as 3.1.3. So I'm sticking with 3.1.3.

^well put...that's why I learned my lesson the first time with OS4. No need to go beyond 3.1.3.

Neb in 'Uses Apple Products After All' shocker.

Time to get synced Neb, buy that mac. You've always wanted to, you know it.

On the topic at hand. All the recent os upgrades have totally fucked up 'Angry Birds'. That's pissed me off.

These kinds of threads are so thought inducing, we need more, perhaps a thread about how the new facebook design isn't as good as the old one and how your setting up a facebook group to complain about it....

Unfortunately many of the newer apps only run with the newer OS versions. Not because they need any of the newer features afforded by the newer OS, it's just that Apple keeps updating the developer SDK and encouraging the developers just to support the newest version, thereby encouraging SW and sometimes HW updating for the end-users. As developers update their SDKs, the newer SDKs overwrite each other, and make it more difficult to make it backwards compatible for you... :?

You're right. Let's just blindly accept how awesome everything Apple makes is. Oooh, shiny Apple stuff.

I mean there's absolutely no redeeming value in informing people not to upgrade to a new OS that bricks your iPhone.

Yup, totally pointless thread.
