Re: Ableton Forum Hall Of Fame (Aka fallen heroes)
oh boys, I am an old man.
Yes there were times when Adam Jay showed everyone how to use Live. And he was a good man.
And then there there was a canadian guy called Montrealbreaks, later he had a different name and disappeared in Afghanistan. True story.
And a swedish guy, Conny, he was gifted, made very strange music that he published on his website. He fought his alcohol habit with support of this very forum. He was last seen beta testing. I wish him the best, those were good times when people on the forum did experimental stuff, and not only dance music.
Hambone disappeared in Dubay. He was a good man, too, and he illuminated weddings with midi clips in live. Yes he did.
Machinate disappeared somewhere else, but shows up on all kinds of different places.
Those are the guys I remember from the old days, and yes, I wasted lots of time reading this forum when working for the man.

Re: Ableton Forum Hall Of Fame (Aka fallen heroes)
methinks a few liberties are being taken with the use of the term 'fallen heroes' here.
As much as I liked Axel, Tod, Russ, etc. it's not like they pulled people out of the wreckage at Ground Zero before the twin towers encapsulated them or took a bullet to save the lives of hostages, or threw themselves over a ticking timebomb to protect innocent children.
These guys were great musicians/engineers/DJs/producers etc. but they pretty much chose their own course to leave by their own actions (even the guys who were banned had warnings and could have taken a time out to cool off and come back instead of forcing Ableton to push the delete button on their accounts by further antagonistic behaviour).
So good luck to them and I'm pretty sure they will be scanning these forums as guests or under new aliases and be a bit bewildered by all the attention they are getting.

That's the hall of LAME shortlist. Or 'the Rave cyber-girlfriend connection'. But 'hall of lame' has a better ring to it. And you forgot to add yourself to the list, consider this your nomination

There was also the great 4/4; who gave me one of the best rim jobs I've ever had before disappearing.
