Depending on the subject matter they can be a little heady for my taste, but in general it beats the usual mundane bullshit we discuss at work.

"Boo! We want Malcolm Gladwell!"

Those Dan Ariely talks (and books) blew my mind. That got me hooked to TED.
Lots of great stuff. Also lots of boring stuff. But what may be boring to me will enlighten another. Shame about the whole Sarah Silverman thing though, would have loved to hear her TED talk.

I heard an interview with Sarah talking about that and just about everybody including herself is wondering why she was invited there in the first place. Jumping the shark? Needed some controversy to expand their viewership?

I'm a big fan 8)

I'm also fortunate enough to be part of a team sorting one out early next year.

I will update the thread once the full site goes live as I'd dearly like to look into getting some kind of audio/visual talk booked if possible.

Love 'em! A real get-smart-quick corner of the internet.

Besides the actual info in there, i really love the concept. short, forced to be to the point, our meetings at work should be like that. and the fact that they put everything online so everyone can see it, awesome.

He came to my office in Feb to give his talk. Very charismatic and energising man. Had 150 people standing up singing Ode to Joy in German by the end of the 2 hours. Very surreal.
