I don't say this often, but this music touched my soul. As weird as it sounds.

do u thick this quality is straight from the performance or there is some post processing/mastering?
Re: These links are gold. (DUB FX) is the man.
I believe the sound is straight from the performance, maybe some little mastering on it.
Here's a interview + performance which the sound isn't direct, but still sounds good imo

yeah man thanks for the links, this is really nice stuff. I spend months making tracks and they don't have shit on these, which are made in real time

I haven't seen the vids yet but look forward to checking them out.docprosper wrote:yeah man thanks for the links, this is really nice stuff. I spend months making tracks and they don't have shit on these, which are made in real time
But from what I know of epic performance videos is these people practice TONS and most likely write with performance in mind and use performance techniques as a writing style. Sometimes when you see these videos it can make you feel like a lost failure by comparison but the videos don't show all the time spent getting to that level. So basically you shouldn't feel discouraged.
As I've said before, many of these type videos have single-handedly inspired people to buy MPCs because the videos make it look just that easy, but when they get the thing they spend hours just staring at it going WTF?!?

Absolutely wicked. I thought for sure he was using Live to get those vocal effects, but I was surprised to see it was what looks like a Boss effect unit and looper pedal. God bless simplicity.

Finally saw these and they are fantastic.
I'd also say with some practice and knowing how the gear works to emulate different instruments, on some level it might almost be easier to write like that (if you have the voice talent) because it can be a lot easier to come up with parts with your voice than translating what's in your head to instruments. Also you would know what your limitations are and wouldn't get lost in fucking around with presets or limitless options.
I'm by no means downplaying his talent though.

@ Beats
Cool huh..
With some cool plugins like "The mouth' http://www.native-instruments.com/themouth/ you can also make a synth with your mouth if you have an idea for some melody, could also be done with ableton plugins I guess... but it's inspirational to just sing it in, getting things done faster and more fun.
Cheerz.
