i mixed the sound together from two headphone sockets and recorded it then edited and mixed it in ableton to give the finished result

Like it. I've written pieces in flight before but totally missed out on using the inflight entertainment as a soundsource. Also, I never thought to film it. Oh how I need to get my laptop fixed, pronto!

yeah the sound and images were pretty hard to match up, sometimes it worked better than other times. there was quite a bit of rubbish to filter out - with both sound and video, i took the best bits and worked with them. both me and the mrs were a bit drunk on the free booze and it was quite a long flight

nitpicking is always welcome
you were right first time - i recorded all the sounds onto minidisc on the plane by jamming with the two passenger controllers and mixing them together, and me and the mrs recorded all the images too, sometimes at the same time as recording audio, sometimes separately when i was switching thru the video channels. i had to edit out a lot of stuff she filmed when she just decided to film her wine glass

i fed all the sound and video into my computer when we got back home and messed around with it, matched stuff up etc until it started to come together

oddly enough I was just listening to 'Tricky' after all these years out of the blue... all you need is a depressed and slightly unhinged spoken word vocalist over it and you're there!

Maybe chuck in the odd bit of Neneh Cherry to top it off....

hmm...a slightly unhinged spoken word vocalist you say? that's kind of what i aim for when i open my mouth on some of my other tracks

neneh cherry lives round my way, not that i personally know her or anything, but ive seen her in the street a couple of times. i tend to rope the missus in to do vocal bits now and then though
