Incidentally, I love most of my beer ICE COLD. I mean like liquid nitrogen ice cold.

Eh. Honestly the Ranger is not that great of an IPA IMO, just ok. Spoiled here in the pacific northwest where they are very popular, but we have a ton of better IPAs brewed locally.

Anyway, I don't care what kind of beer it is. I want it ICE cold.

Hmm. Well, I don't drink a lot of IPAs so I'm gonna take your word for it... More of a brown ale man myself.

My favorite's are wits or sour ales, some times a plain pale ale like Deschutes Mirror Pond. But Seattle is so huge into IPAs, that I more or less had to get into them as half the bars we go to will serve mainly IPAs. I like them now, but it definitely took some getting used to for all those hops.

man, I'd love that much choice of ales. I was a big lover of real ale in the UK ("real" in the CAMRA sense) and sorely miss being able to get really good real ale from Wetherspoons during an ale festival for around £1.70... a pint of something similar here has cost me up to 4 times that.

Beer is so disappointing here in Oz. They do have a lot more of what that call "boutique" beers coming out that are decent, but they are insanely expensive. Like $20 for a 6 pack. (that's AUD but at the moment the AU $ is actually worth more than US!!)

The only cheap beers are the local shitty ones. Monopolies rule in this country and you can only buy alcohol from designated "bottle shops" which means they keep the prices stupidly high, and it will never change because all they ever talk about is the problems created by alcohol etc etc and even try and make it more expensive.

And some Australians seem to be strangely proud of these shitty beers.

Still, I should probably give my liver a rest at some point anyway!

Or learn how to brew. Ales are surprisingly easy to make yourself. I would if I were in oz. $20 for a sixer ain't no joke.

You could, of course, just drink some of your quality wines though. They're super cheap by compaison.

yeah I was brewing for a while... I guess maybe I'm just too lazy to do it properly, but it never quite ended up how I wanted it

my ex ended up throwing out my kit and I haven't replaced it yet..... she's my ex now though! ;-)
