New track in progress, what genre would this be considered?

Post by aisling » Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:28 pm

I am old and washed up, so all these new genre titles kind of get my panties in a bunch....Any thoughts as to what genre this track is considered. I call it "future funk".....always grateful and appreciative for the feedback and opinions.

not the quality but the genre....Although not sure it was even listened to

@solid poopenstein, drop a link so I can get a better gauge of what is decent music. All about the ball busting but it is nice when you can back it up with substance. :)

It's like a Mellow Gold or Morcheeba outtake, which I mean as more of a good thing....
I think just to break out of predictability though, 1/3rd way through I would switch it to some insane 190bpm jungle with a huge amount of digital distorition. I'm not sure if I'm serious about that or not.

It's definitely NOT future funk, though. Where's the future part?
I don't like the term trip-hop, but downtempo implies more easy listening like Zero-7, so I would stick with trip-hop, if we have to play this game.
Good stuff.

Clearly you haven't listened to any pre-Victorian Zip Zop.
