Norway spawned some more outstanding personalities. Norwegians are certainly proud of Vidkun Quisling and Varg Virkenes (which are somehow family related, but it's impossible to avoid in such small societies like Norwegian...).
And again, you Americans are going astray confusing wage slavery of capitalism with socialism's utopia. If you want to take an example of the real socialist country check out Sweden... well 25 years ago, because now it's infected with global monetary insanity (Made in U.S. and A.). Cuba, as well as former Soviet Union are/were dictatorships hiding behind socialism. U.S. and A. is as well dictatorship calling itself "Republic", raping all human rights around the World, pretending being "a peacemaker" while killing innocent people in the quest for oil...
And who the hell was that Amy Winehouse?

The problem is that it wasn't his intention to convert anyone. His goal was simply to eradicate as many future politically active people who might hold an ideology that was contrary to his. And guess what. He succeeded.

It's fine and dandy to paint it as a failure in terms of "changing hearts and minds" but in the end the simple, grim reality is that people can't think at all when they're dead.

In the end of the day he lost more than he gained. Moderates are going to associate the right wing fringe that believes immigration is evil etc. with him, and become more left wing, this is why I believe in fact he lost. It's always hearts and minds, he would have had to kill every last person who didn't think they way he does to "win". Hell, Germany went through a full on genocidal attack on the left, and it became even more left for quite a while because of it. He made martyrs out of his "enemies", and ugly enough, he by wanting to live and not going out in a blaze of gunfire thankfully will never get that title.

Whoa whoa I'm not buying into any theory. Just thought it was a rather interesting article.

But you're right, he must be some superhuman with extreme speed and invisibility powers. Think there's a new CNN article about it

If I were you, I'd do some research into when the exercises mentioned in that article really took place (hint: it wasn't 48 hours before the bombing). It's good to ask questions, but must cospiracy theorists lie more often than the people and governments they're supposedly trying to keep honest.
I'm almost convinced that Alex Jones is a planed confusion tactic by some clandestine operatives  , though I have no idea who for, so probably just mental.

Meh, Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 people in an open campus, this guy had the luxury of his victims being trapped on an island. No reason for any sort of superhuman powers, just automatic weapons, a police uniform and people believing he was there to stop the killer.

The only pundit I like is Steven Colbert.

I kinda like the lesbian too. Personally the only actual right wing pundit I kind of liked was William F Buckly, at least he was articulate. You knew where he stood and generally he didn't hid his beliefs behind smear campaigns against the other side, he debated them on tv. The right has a huge vast abyss of intellectual and well mannered pundits, which is sad on many levels. I'm reading Mein Kampf riight now and Adolf old boy keeps on pointing out again and again how the main thing you need to do to win the hearts and minds of the great unwashed masses is to hammer an emotionally based simple message home and constantly attack the opponent as being wrong in every way. Stick to simple messages and blame the entire established government for every ill that's befallen the country. Really reminded me of the Flip Flopper campaign against Kerry, the abject sloganeering from both sides, the Tea party movements sadder moments, and the general lack of information about what a candidates will actually do once in office.

actually he failed immensly because not only is he now considered one of the worst people alive, but he also managed to provide a huge influx of new members to just about any political party, both in norway, and outside of norway.
people are going into politics as a way of saying "we will not stand for this".

suceeded?
not likely.

I must respectfully disagree with the above statement, as mentally, all socialists can be regarded as children. They are to be objects of pity, not mass-slaughter (no matter how good they taste grilled over an open flame with a dash of barbecue sauce.)

Comparing them to Hitler Youth is just plain sad, but I can't deny that a political based youth camp is just sick and wrong on so many levels. Jebus, even we don't have that in the states.....do we? 8O I mean, an actual kids camp fully sanctioned/supported by the Dems or Repubs?

read the article I posted about that dirtbag pundit, his "followers" do in fact have a youth camp teaching "tea party" rhetoric.... also face it most bible camps are now little republican training centers...

Watched 'Jesus Camp' the other day. 8O

Still, don't think we have an actual Young Democrats or Young Republicans get-away camp - paid for by those parties (DNC, RNC). Private, sure. But actually sanctioned.

*shrug*

Don't know, but any kind of politically driven camp for kids just gives me the heebie-jeebies.
