Audio is NEVER music. Infact it is called "audio", not "music" For instance, there is a forum session here called "music and audio production". Why That "and" if audio is music?! Moreover: let's say you record a melody with distorted guitar with flanger and chorus. Then again the same melody but not distorted. Then the same melody but without chorus. Then again the same effects but the melody changes a little. Then the same melody but played in a different key. Where is the "music"?! Different sounds, but the same "music"?! Or different songs?! How do you call them?! "music distorted flangered", "same music not distorted", "similar melody" etc.?! And if you like the one distorted but without chorus? How can you change that? Impossible. That is not musc, that is sound. Music is: a sequence of (silent) notes and intervals in time, "dressed" with sound (timbre and effects). But this dress must be always changeable (e.g. add chorus, change instrument, etc.). Otherwise it is just sound.

venn diagram; animal can be horse, animal can be cow, animal can be duck etc.

audio can be anything you record.

music goes from midi to audio to speaker.

you say music is in midi, then suddenly disappears in audio, and suddenly is back there again in speaker.

very weird.

"animal" is a human category for something concrete (see Kant or Aristotele). "music" is an abstract code, it has nothing to do with experience. Sound is concrete, music is abstract: like thought, mathematics and grammar. Sound of music is an epiphenomenon, a consequence. Not the cause.

venn diagramm can be applied on anything.

sound of what?

sound of music, sound of noise, sound of fart, sound of car engine running, sound of dog barking.

or sound of nothing?
