Steve Jobs: February 24, 1955 - October 5, 2011

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, father of the Macintosh and the brains behind the wild success of the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, has passed away, Apple has confirmed to several news outlets, including CBS, and on its website. He was 56.

a real shame, the guy did some interesting stuff with his life and made a real mark.
A pity he couldn't have gone on another 30 years or so.
it comes to us all sooner or later.

shit! 8O

I guess it's not that surprising, he's been looking terrible for a long while now, but I guess I didn't realise how close to death he was.

Fuck, now we have to listen to all of the stuffed shirts and talking melons on tv kissing his ass and elevating him to sainthood for days on end. Droning Michael Jackson case to the rescue.

Yeah, he was a good guy, but come on.

More impressive: http://apple.com/

(IMO that's showing some respect; the hell with the commercial stuff).

I'm no Apple fan (*nix / Windows minded) but there's no denying that he made quite the impact (lets not forget that Microsoft started with a goal to mimic both Xerox as well as Apple).

And one can also hardly deny the overall impact of Apple.

A sad day indeed, he will be missed. By friends and "foes".
With kind regards,

Peter

The sun has set too early on a visionary.
