Soundcloud - Plays vs Comments vs Hearts vs DLs?

Lets say you have a few tracks on Soundcloud and you want to pick out the best three, based on stats.
How do you guys tend to weight it up?

I was doing TP % (D+H)
(Total Plays divided by Downloads plus Hearts)

Does this sound about right?

seriously, though- meaningful comments and favorites are the money. listens don't mean shit. downloads hold a little more weight than listens, but not much.

i would count positive comments the same as favorites. most of the time, if they leave a nice comment, they will favorite it too.

+1 - total plays is a measure of your skill at spamming, not your skill at music

i just switch things up randomly every few weeks or so, despite hearts, listens, what i feel about the song.

I don't think that's always true, lots of people don't feel like having a soundcloud account simply to "heart" a track, some tracks can be streamed by curious people before a gig, etc.. The hearts are good to see if other musicians or DJs like your stuff though.

And I agree that total downloads is the best.

personally, if i like a track even a little and see there's a free download, i'll grab it without thinking about it. i probably favorite 1 of 10 tracks i DL.

Are you hoping people will listen to your tracks for 12 seconds instead of the usual 7 seconds? And I’m including time spent clicking to the part of the waveform with the highest peaks in total listening time.

Well sometime your track is good and is featured on a blog or something like that. So you have a hight play count because it's played in a widget. So it s not total rubbish.
