Like a rabbit punch to the heart it's some new Cuddle Core!

http://soundcloud.com/minus-you/reflections

It starts out a bit sad but moves on up to rib crushing embrace. Probably best listened to after you and your lady have a world class spat. Then you realize, yeah, she's a bitch but she's your bitch.

I don't even know what that means but I'm going to print it out and stick it in my fan mail scrapbook anyway.

Can I quote you in my interview for Electronica Thanks Skrillex Quarterly?

:x

Quite nice. With a little work could be much better though.

Two things:
1. Too long. Needs more development later in the track
2. Mastering. I listened to this on my iPad speakers and was amazed to hear the drums way in the back of the mix. Steve would be upset. :P

FYI I am branching out into cuddle core too with a twist of bland and shitt. I will post up later ;)

Agreed it could use some development. I only worked on the track for about 3 days. I say only because my usual routine over the past couple years is to obsessively work on a for about 2 weeks and by the end of the 2 weeks I'm only about a minute and a half deep and I'm bored and frustrated with it and don't know where to take it from there. :x I'm working on finding a middle ground.

Too long? I usually don't feel a track is finished until it is at least kissing the 6 minute mark. This weighs in at 4:30. But I know it's all relative to the track.

Bring on the bland and shitt cuddle core! :P

Drums are a little flat methinks. Limit those drums through the roof. I can't cuddle if I lose count of the beat :x

You guys need to come over and listen to my music on my speakers in my room and then we’ll all pile into my 98’ Camry with stock stereo and listen to it on there because the songs sound decent on those systems.

This is the hazard of the moderate budget home producer who cares more about the journey of the song than sonic excellence. I throw stupid money at Apple but I’m not convinced dropping several grand on better monitors is going to magically fix my mixing issues. Then I got to start investigating room setup, treatment, and....

How much money am I making off music? $0.00. How much money are a lot of producers who make more relevant and marketable music than me making off music? $0.00. Cost analysis complete.

:x

But yes, my mixes could use some more polishing. :)

You're making zero?! HOW?

My earnings from music go into the deep negatives :x :x :x And I can't even play a real instrument.

I'm born with a genetic defect that makes me immune to buyers remorse :x

Valid point I failed to see and I’m in the deep red right there with you. Speakers and the likes just aren’t a “sexy” or “fun” expensive purchase. And just like people who site how having kids changed their focus in life and kept them from becoming a pro ball player, I’m going to use my lack of high end outboard gear as the reason my mixes are SHIT. :x

Comparing the act of having kids with buying high end speakers. :D :D :D

Life isn't as complicated as it seems. :x

Or maybe it is. Goddamit. This is a tricky one. :x
