How Exclusive Is Ableton Live?

Post by saxon2000 » Wed May 23, 2012 4:55 am

Hello. I was at Disneyland in California last Sunday. It was VERY VERY busy. I walked by thousands and thousands of people. I was wearing my Ableton T-shirt, and nobody seemed to recognize the logo. Not one person out of many thousands.
The day before, I wore my KORG T, and one person made a nice comment, which was cool, but nobody even glanced at the Ableton logo and the park was absolutely packed with people.
Should I be surprised by this?

Give it some time, I hear a rumor that kim Kardashian is learning live, so it will only be a matter of time until all those people are using live as well.

I saw a girl with a Ableton Bag on my work and i asked her from where she knows Ableton. She was a ex-employee (and nice) but stunned that anybody recognized that logo :/

Most of the people on this forum don't know what Ableton is and we number in the tens.

During the winter I wear a beanie (winter cap) with the ableton logo on front (vertical and horizontal stripes) and I'm always pleasantly suprised when someone comments on it. It's happened maybe 3 times in the last 5 years.

Yep. Still cool.

So when you wear a Nike top, does everyone comment on that?

Seems odd to me that you'd expect comments. But I live in London, where we don't talk to anyone unless-
A) it's absolutely necessary.
B) the train breaks down
C) very drunk

i often walk around the city for the sole purpose of looking at random people's t-shirts and commenting on them. yesterday, when i saw an ed hardy t-shirt, i told the guy his shirt had a nice tattoo.

With your little observation based 'experiment' you made the perfect proove that Korg is much more popular and well known compared to Ableton, kudos!

Really? Of course I also expect everything anyone says to be big sarcastic lie. Of course we also comment on people's t-shirts, but sneakily beind their backs and usually only when we're laughing at them. Like this-

Funny, because I wore my BITWIG t-shirt at DisneyWorld last week and got 134 high fives, 76 thumbs up, 96 "FUCK ABLETON LIVE!"s.

Oh, and got laid 14 times.

It's all about the RIGHT brand, baby.
