The whole topic is insane. There is no debate anymore between the people who are looking into the data. Only how bad it's going to be, and what we do about it.

After the second world war, the German government realised that with free speech there is a danger that disinformation can spread between people who are too lazy to look into actual facts. In rare circumstances the consequences are too severe for people to be allowed to voice an uninformed "opinion" on the subject.

This of course led to laws on holocaust denial. I suggest climate change denial would fit into the same category.

What I mean is there is perception amongst the public that there is still doubt about whether it's happening and whether we are the cause.

This doubt is only in the minds of people who don't have the information.

Scientists working in the relevant fields are in agreement.

The debate now is on specific effects, what can be done to limit the damage and how we can adapt to it.

The informed debate about whether it's happening or not is over. It should be treated as such.

No I wouldn't trust governments to have control over the topic, just saying I regard climate change denial as dangerous as holocaust denial.

Man contributes to the global temperature of the planet, but probably much less natural factors such as sun activity. Although the temperature of the planet has seen great fluctuations in the past, we are, as of 1999, in a cooling period. Politicians who evoke global warming as an serious issue, when also trying to expand governmental powers, are attempting to manipulate us. Priviate individuals who promote global warming hysteria are generally dissatisfied with their own lives, and are trying to fill a void by imposing their will on others.

And since this all sounds a little too reasonable for once, I'd like to extend my sincerest "fuck u" to all those who disagree.
