Similarly people love to go ape shit over Facebook privacy concerns. So Facebook decided to let their users vote on if they want to be more involved in Facebook’s future decisions. Hardly anybody participated in comparison to their total amount of users so Facebook decided nobody gets a say in what they do going forward. Voting on something like that just doesn’t sound fun or entertaining so nobody gives a shit, but people will continue to passively bitch about it when they’ve run out of pictures of kittens and sunset vacations to look at and comment on. :x

This will soon be followed by a press announcement. “There should be very little concern over a tax increase to the middle class as the middle class no longer exists.”

uh yeah... "the amount of voters does not accurately reflect the amount of users... blah"

maybe if they actually let you delete your account the bigger of those two numbers would go down.

Yeah, I find that “active users” reporting highly suspect. I think they are lumping in anybody who opened an account ever even if they haven’t been on there in forever or never did anything with it. That would describe 95% of “active users” on Google+.

I heard that some doctors treating social networking addiction advise their patients to migrate from Facebook to Google+. The calm, unchanging serenity and desert-like emptiness helps to restimulate the need for real world engagement.

Regarding the silly petition, they already tried this in the 80s with the Star Wars program under Reagan. Actually it was an anti-Death Star weapon, but that's probably a story for another day.

BIG THUMBS UP for the White House/Obama trying to seem more human.

I'll make sure to think about this and giggle over the wonderful, warm sense of tongue-in-cheek humour the next time I read about how we killed 20 civilians in Afghanistan with a Drone Strike.

I'll also make sure to remember this Death Star bit of humour when Obama uses his Executive Order powers to ban certain assault weapons, and then turns around and orders a missle strike on a suspected terrorist compound that accidentally wipes out 100 innocents.

BIG THUMBS UP to having a sense of humour and knowing what I.R.O.N.Y. means.

:P
