Breaking Bad - does it get better?

Am on episode four of the first series. Find it ok. But not great. Does it get any better? i.e. should I stick with it?

I can’t say liking one means you will like the other. I like Breaking Bad but not The Wire. But I wouldn’t recommend marathoning Breaking Bad. If I watch a couple episodes in a row I find myself feeling depressed.

Breaking bad is really depressing and very disturbing, I really dont know why so many people like it.
I watched all of season one because a lot of people I know that liked The Office (pre season 7 ) also liked Breaking Bad so, I thought there would be at least some witty humor... nope.
I'm sure this all reads out like an old lady typing an angry letter but whatever.. Breaking Bad is sick and it just contributes to society's garbage pile, even if you dont go out and "cook" meth and dissolve dead bodies in chemicals then flush them down a toilet, you still are going to be affected by the images you see in some way.

I personally find it great but to each his own. It definitely gets better as it goes on, but it does have some low points.

i love BrBa.....its definitely a show that builds. it might be a little slow right now, but that is kind of the point. i say stick it out through season 2, if you still aren't psyched, maybe it's not your thing. i would say stick it out through season 4, that is when things really get crazy. but like i said, if you can't make it through season 2, it probably isn't your deal.

i agree with some people here, it definitely isn't "feel good" at all. in fact it gets darker and darker as it goes along.
and it definitely goes off into some weird directions. but over all, it is a solid show. there is some sick twisted humor stuff in there, if you appreciate that kind of thing. i don't want to give anything away, but you will know it when you see it.

i don't fully buy the argument that it contributes to the cesspool...no more than i think slayer, marilyn manson or NWA, contributes to the cesspool. i mean, it doesn't contribute positivity to the world, that is for sure. but i feel most people can enjoy it responsibly. i don't feel like it glorifies that lifestyle. in fact, i think the over all message of the show is "this path can get messed up, yo!"
