Another quick question -- We arrive in London Heathrow on Monday around noon, and want to take a flight to Dublin, spend two nights in Ireland, and then take the ferry and train back on Wednesday to begin my training on Thursday. (We want to do the ferry/train deal at least once, because... um.. that's what people do in Europe isn't it? Lol )
Can someone please provide resources to make this work out? There are a lot of websites out there, but not knowing anything of the area, I have no idea if these are reputable, or spam/scams.
What resources would you use to plan a ferry+train ride getting from Dublin to London, and can it be done in one day on a Wednesday? Also, is there any website that's particularly better, or more helpful for planning a one way from London to Dublin? Otherwise I've just been using sites like Travelocity...
You'd be better off flying if you want to go to Dublin. Only do the train if you are going to Paris, which takes far less time to get to from London than Dublin!
At the time you're getting into Heathrow, I highly doubt you'd be able to get to Dublin on public transport within a day. It takes an hour to get the tube from Heathrow into Central London alone!
Also Ireland uses a different currency to the UK.
