Got into it for a while when I was a teenager.

Haven't been able to do it in years. Oddly enough all the times that I did were when I was actively reading up on it and trying to induce the lucid dreams.

From what I remember, sometimes there can be a sort buffer zone in between being asleep and being in the dream where you are conscious of yourself lying down but you can't move at all. It can start to get a little terrifying if it goes on for a while since it's essentially like being paralyzed.

Check out Robert Monroe. He was probably the first to study lucid dreaming. He claimed he had long stretches of lucid dreams that were a continuous alternate reality that he basically lived in for like a year or something.

Weird shit.

Yeah at times, it has to be a vivid dream.

Then in the dream I'll knock on something and if I can manipulate the sound, I know it's lucid... Then I'll usually try and find a girl to bang or an awesome adventure to go on. xD
