 Out of touch with the headline initially, I thought Jaco had spawned, and his offspring had come to make his mark......

So I’m at this bar talking to this woman and I notice she has a black eye. I think oh great, here’s a chick who doesn’t listen.

Now that I actually bothered to read more info on this, there really is a lot of tragedy here. I thought it was just purely “athlete kills his hot girlfriend”….cause, you know, we should care about those people more than the less attractive common man.

the fact that she was amazing on several levels is what makes it sadder, thats just human nature, you give a shit because she was special. if some scabby meth whore is dying at the same time i have to admit to being less sympathetic (oops! pc? huh?)

But I also think it’s fair to say that when somebody is attractive and also intelligent and doing something meaningful with their life we tend to elevate them as if to say “You so didn’t need to go to that level. Life for you would be cake just based on your looks.” So it’s like a tragedy+.

A big story down here in SA, coming hot on the heels of the rape and murder of Anene Booysen. Lots of soul searching and what-are-we-coming to.

A country in which men are taught they should be on top, and that they have to show women who's boss.

after having seen a few documentaries about SA it looks like a pretty scary place to live..... having a loaded gun under his pillow and a machine gun near the window shows that he was pretty jumpy (bad pun?) already, so I guess it could have been just a really tragic accident...
