ok, how do you actually post images to this forum? fucking annoying, i don't get it
Re: pictures
When you're writing a post, there's a row of boxes above the text area. One of them says 'img' on it.
Click that, then insert the URL of the image between the tags.
Alternatively you could just type the tags yourself.

Re: pictures
so how do i get the link for a screen shot that i've taken ?
Re: pictures
OK time for "using the internet, lesson one"....
Upload your image to an image hosting site. There are loads of them. Some you'll need to register for, some you won't.
Once it's uploaded, there'll be a URL provided, which you copy & paste onto here, between the img tags.

Re: pictures
hmmm... but if they're uploaded to a different sire don't they get deleted / disappear from this forum?
Which site do you use / recommend?

Re: pictures
They can do. It depends on the T&C of the site you use.
If it happens, then you could either upload it again, or use another site.
Just Google for image hosting. You'll soon see which ones don't need a login.

Re: pictures
fair, i'd have thought there would have been some kind of general consensus on which one to use or whatever. It's silly because if the pictures are deleted the post loses any potential value for future readers and takes away from the forum itself. We really should be able to upload directly.
thanks though

Re: pictures
Uploading directly takes space though.
It might not be too bad for the odd screen shot, but when there are huge threads of pictures that have little or nothing to do with Ableton or Live, it doesn't take long before it becomes an issue - server space, copyright...

Re: pictures
so which would you recommend DocProsper? There must be one that's as near as objectively best suited for use with this forum?docprosper wrote:...but it's photo-focused so might not be best for screen grabs.docprosper wrote:I use Flickr, it's free and good for sharing photos as well...SilverNeedle wrote:hmmm... but if they're uploaded to a different sire don't they get deleted / disappear from this forum?
