The new BT
The new BT
Just released today. I’m digging it. Interestingly the longest running track is 4:37. Most of them are 3 minutes and some change. This must be by design and I wonder if it’s some kind of response to the tracks on his last release being obnoxiously long and full of unnecessary changes, although I suppose that depends on your taste.
I wonder if there will be a second version of this album with extended versions.

Re: The new BT
What style is it, that really slow ambient stuff, the pop dance, or the good downtempo?

Cool, I'll probably pick it up (15% off at Beatport atm using 28AUG415).
Although some of these tracks are over a year old :/
Do you know is the version of the Nadia Ali tune the same as this: http://snd.sc/WFOjNX ? <- the beginning of that is pretty sweet. It's a nice little tune.

I only gave it a quick spin, and while it didn't sound half bad, it kind of doesn't reach the same heights as These Hopeful Machines. And half the songs are already released in singles and mixes, wtf?
But luckily it's nowhere near as terrible as Armin van Buuren's new album.
I'm slowly shifting towards dubstep/dnb/sampling/glitch (y'know, the other end of the electronic music scale), because it sounds like trance as a broad term is running out of ideas.

I didn’t know there are a bunch of tracks that were released before as singles. He’s mostly off my radar, an artist I check in on a couple times a year and it just so happened this time there was a new release. I know he always brings something interesting to the table production-wise.
The funny thing is on this album he uses a lot of his former production techniques which became popularized later by other artists. So if you haven’t followed his career it might sound like he’s trying hard to make the sound that’s hot now, but it’s mostly just BT being BT with maybe a little more emphasis on the current hot sound….which he did before it got hot.

But releasing an album with all the "hot sounds" that were plaguing us all summer now, kind of makes this album feel redundant.
Nonetheless, there's still a good bit of wib wubs and FX rapes that keeps it fresh. It's good but nothing revolutionary. But neither was Daft Punk's album. The golden middle ground.

Because Whatever.
Re: The new BT
Read a recent interview where BT says he still uses Logic 6 because no version past that has the deep audio editing options he requires.
And he loves FL Studio.
And he’s working on some new beat plug-in that is unlike anything else currently out there and is going to blow us away.
