My funky mishap needs your pipes

Post by beats me » Fri Sep 20, 2013 12:41 pm

Ever fuck up and accidentally make a song that sounds happy? That's what happened right here.

https://soundcloud.com/minus-you/like-no-other

Very frustrating. It's as if Justin Timberlake's backup band and Maroon 5 were forced to slop something together at gun point. Not finished yet but I figure there's no righting the ship at this point. So I thought I would inquire if there is anybody on here with a talent for singing about a mesmerizing special lady, your talents as a skilled lover, good times with good friends, or other such horse shit that would like to help me ship this off to the shores of derivative pop obscurity.

Thanks for your time.

How many of my pipes do you need?

A few pipes would probably work but feel free to Def Leppard it and clean out the inventory of several hardware store chains.

So not trying to self promote, but I actually held my friend visiting from Ireland, hostage until she tracked this song. I initially coaxed her out on the promise of just a few "oh's and ah's", here and there....

it may not be worthy of cuddle core, but you popped into my mind when I posted it on sound cloud...

Live, Reason, Moog sub phatty, Moog sub 37, Ozone 6, guitars, Pedals, proper ergonomic sitting posture, french pressed coffee with a pinch of cardamon.

Dig it. Meant to comment Friday but I poured a drink after work and next thing you know its Monday. It's actually closer to the song I posed in this thread than Cuddle Core. How much of it is live instruments? It sounds like a lot.

Thanks for the listen! :D We tracked guitars live, but everything else is produced within the DAW. I did use the "Viking" (Moog emulation) rack extension for reason for quite a few sounds.

I never got past the back patch cable emulation on Reason and at this point there's no reason to add yet another piece of software to my music arsenal, 90% of which I don't use already.

I have been a reason jockey since ver 1 so old habits are just hard to break....I agree with the 90% of stuff I don't use, I have my share on this end!

I have good news for you, beats: that song is not happy. Chirpily morose, maybe. But I think you're safe. Narse Choon, as we say here in Cape Town.

And same to Aisling. Very narse choon.

Thanks! Glad you liked the choon and that it didn't exactly take you to a happy place. I have a rep I need to maintain.
