US founding fathers didn’t really care for Americans
US founding fathers didn’t really care for Americans
Or think they were worthy of democracy. Thought they were a bunch of lazy drunk assholes. Walking down the main street of any given US town or city was basically like walking down Bourbon St. during Mardi Gras 24/7/365, but more depraved. Alcohol was a huge part of life including during working hours. Employers were expected to supply their workers with alcohol in many cases. On average Americans consumed 5 shots of alcohol a day. Prostitution and infidelity were common place.
We view democracy as a way to preserve freedom but it was actually used to strip away freedom comparatively to America’s beginning.
Reading about all this in A Renegade History of the United States which is basically saying we owe more of our freedoms to the dregs of society than the politicians we glorify so much. The founding fathers would be disgusted by many of the freedoms we enjoy today.
Quite a different reality from the version romanticized.

Some people are quick to throw out racist allegations, especially white people.
Re: US founding fathers didn’t really care for Americans
Since this thread is most likely going to go down the racist road now….
I learned from the TV I proudly own and watch that Thomas Jefferson wanted to put an end to the salve trade in the constitution but it was voted down. He was still a racist though. He wanted to free his slaves but only if everybody else did it. He also wanted to ship them all back to Africa. So, that kind of racist. The whole “all men are created equal” clause was meant to be understood as white men without saying it directly.

the italian is correct.
not only do they make some of the best dance music in western europe, but they also have a great understanding of philosophical reasoning.
shame on you ableton users who disagree.
only if you are swedish, and have a higher rating of pop music success, then can you disagree.
USA has great history of pop music in the 70's and 80's. Not anymore.
Shame on USA's arrogance.
Shame on people still using ableton to make 'music'.
long live mynova. long live music.

And not even just white men but white male landowners. In other words the people who had the most stake in the prosperity of the new nation.beats me wrote:The whole “all men are created equal” clause was meant to be understood as white men without saying it directly.
Unsound Designer

(Not so) funny how politicians love to site the great vision of the founding fathers but their motives are closer to the less advertised/noble visions of the founding fathers.

only land owners could afford slaves but many more less fortunate people opted out for the racism package that didn't come with land, enough so that a ridiculous amount of people were willing to die for the cause in the civil war.

I had some new insights to share here but I think it’s no longer allowed. Fuck.
