we finished this the other week but have been arguing about what to call it and whether to leave it as it is or add some more bits since then. in the end we left it pretty much as it was when it first got jammed out. pretty raw i guess, with minimal eq, we just added some broken glass and violence afterwards.

That song is destined for the next Rob Zombie movie. :)

An hour and a half well spent. :) Nothing wrong with it but to my taste at some point I would do variations of the bass line note so it find of creates a different section, but that's just my taste.

Thank you kindly 8)

Yes the track needs a section 2

And the lead line needs to bcome sparser and more interesting.

When I jam and record I always put in way too many notes & need to edit them afterwards :)

Not picking on your track here, but the big trend in electronica right now seems to only have variations in a track by either adding sounds or taking them away. There are really no distinct and unique sections.

In a way I blame Live’s session view or Mashine for this kind modular producing. I picture a producer’s set with a bunch of clips in drums, percussion, and effects but under the bass sound there’s just one clip. Doesn’t even cross their mind they could have a bunch of clips there too to experiment with.

freaking excellent. great bontempi-like organ sounds at the start (probably isn't but that's what it sounds like for me :D )

really like the drums

it's one of those tracks that i could listen to in order to learn from

how'd you do the slowdown thing at the end?

Good points. As I said, this was just a 90 minute jam 8)

But yes, I am interested developing a much more fluid and organic approach to song structure. Session view can encourage a very static, loop based approach, but there is no reason why one can't have much more interesting arcs and lines in a song...

For me, acquiring Push... and learning how to properly play keyboards ... are big moves in that direction 8)

Nice journey. Would make a great opening track for an EP. Or LP. Or whatever it is the kids are doing now.
