Fedex Vs. Severe winter
http://www.fedex.com/us/servicealerts/
FedEx Express experienced substantial flight and sort disruptions last night due to winter weather, snow and ice at the Memphis hub. Potential delays are possible for package deliveries across the U.S. with a delivery commitment of February 12, 2014. FedEx is committed to provide service to the best of our ability. Please continue to check FedEx Service Alerts for updates.
I am expecting packages.
I am disgruntled.
Science lied to me.

I’m expecting a package today too, but the tracking says it’s on a truck out for delivery and we’re only experiencing severe mild weather in CA.
We're pussies in CA though. In San Diego they declare a state of emergency if the temp moves out of the mid 70's and a few small clouds form in the sky.

Do you want to see my package?
Re: Fedex Vs. Severe winter
I had some custom speakers being built for me the last 2 month or so, and they are finally done this week. Trouble is, there's so much snow in Kentucky where they were built, they can't get their forklift out to load them onto a truck.
And that's just to take them to the UPS freight office to ship them to me, who knows what delays UPS will have by then too.

I'm curious to know what speakers require a forklift to lift.
Re: Fedex Vs. Severe winter
Tyler acoustic D2x's, they're about 150lbs each.

Yes, those in the pic are an older style though and I'm getting mine done custom in Sitka spruce. Just got the tracking number too, woo hoo!

Would be funny if they came with skin tight dust covers.

I'm sure they are quality speakers and the wood plays a part, but I seriously flashed back to my parents' first component stereo system in the 80's. Large size was synonymous with quality, period.
