How do you transport your decks/equipment by plane?

Hey, for a while now I wanted to ask this question...
Like how do you transport and where do you put/pack your decks/mixer when you fly? Do you pack it
as cargo luggage or you take it as hand luggage? Music equipment is a bit sensitive hence the question..
Also, same question when you travel with low cost companies in Europe like Easy Jet, Wizz Air, Ryanair..
