I think they should have run with the dark silhouetted figure a bit more. Ironically minutes after I watched this the light I have on a timer went on.

Re: Horror short
I couldn't sleep last night, so I ended up watching this at about 2am, between bouts of tossing and turning. And tossing.

I watched it on my iPad with the volume way down in an effort to reduce the probable “BOO!!” factor. I hate/love that shit.

Mine was actually on mute. I had my girl sleeping soundly beside me and I didn't want to wake her. The silence only made the last scene more creepy, in my mother-fucking-honest-opinion.
Re: Horror short
I found out about the video from a site with the article titled “I am NEVER Turning Off My Lights Again!”. So I prepared myself mentally.
I still get the willies thinking about this scene from The Grudge.

I really enjoyed this one. My only qualm is with the very last shot, where the entity is right in our faces. I was hoping for something less obvious and more unexpected - the less you see, the more fear you create, as with anything. What one doesn't know one fears etc. This is what HP Lovecraft understood very well.
I don't have an idea for an alternate ending. There's gotta be something goddamnit! *fist shatters window*

I wasn't a fan of the flashing lamp. It felt a bit uninspired.
But the last shot worked for me because typically in this kind of scenario, dark=danger and light=safety, and with that final shot, the creature appears in the light, thus removing any safety—you've got nowhere to go.
