I wonder if Fabfilter is going to drop Twin 3 soon. In my account they made an even bigger discount on Twin 2 and changed the text to red so it really pops. Or maybe it was Volcano 2. Anyhow, one of those with big red discount.

Volcano 2 is 60% off right now. Maybe that's what you saw?beats me wrote: Or maybe it was Volcano 2. Anyhow, one of those with big red discount.

Probably. Do you know why its on sale? I didn't get an email from Fabfilter. Seems odd to discount just one plugin for no reason.Richie Witch wrote:Volcano 2 is 60% off right now. Maybe that's what you saw?beats me wrote: Or maybe it was Volcano 2. Anyhow, one of those with big red discount.

So I pulled the trigger on Volcano 2, Twin 2, and Timeless 2 which came out to more than 50% off the full prices. Also went wildcard and got U-He Hive, still in beta but 33% off. Like what I’ve heard so far. And like with all quality collections you have to respect the craftsmanship if nothing else.

Regarding sample packs: What would you like to see from NI, if not Hip Hop/style kits?

Scroll down to the Addictive Drums 2 –ADPAKS
http://www.xlnaudio.com/products/#addictivedrums2-adpak
Check out some of the audio demos. There are 17 of them and with the possible exception of Reel Machines, Maschine doesn’t cover any of that. The audio demos will also show you that not all acoustic drum kits and their genres are the same. There is a lot of variety. Maschine should cover at least some of it.

Yeah those drums sound really good. So the problem is that they don't come in Maschine-ready format?
*Side-note, guitars used to be my entire musical LIFE, but those sample packs juxtoposed how boring guitar is (relative to the drums). OMG. (except for a certain 'Black-Velvet' Blues guitar part) Did I mention I just bought a synth?

My main complaint is that NI has completely ignored those genres and sounds in their expansion packs, and yes you could just use Addictive Drums, but things would be a lot more flexible in Maschine if they were formatted for Maschine.
Plus today’s music is all about crossing and mixing genres. Maybe a mainly Hip Hop or House producer would come up with some cool shit by experimenting outside their wheel house, “Hmm, I wonder what these Grunge Rock beats would sound like with this track” But they’re never going to find out because they are already drowning in NI’s 9 unnecessary Hip Hop expansion packs.
Congrats on the deep discount Hive purchase. U-he’s development is always top notch.

Took advantage of a 50% off Lounge Lizard sale this past weekend. Haven’t used Live in years (sorry). Has the Live version kept up with the current version of the plugin?
