Let's allow this thread to live, the new one covers the ground this one can't, and the tittle isn't so ban worthy.

Sorry MW! I did my part to clean things up.
Now I don't remember what we were talking about.

How outstanding Laibach's sense of parody is, how they lampoon all culture and authority without it being an 'in joke' but more like by copying the ridiculousness of it all. The covered most of Let it Be by the bEattles which was hilarious with moments of pure bliss. Their version of Across the Universe is better than the original.

but mostly they make fun of classic rock by putting it so out of context as to make it seem like pure commercialism etc.

This is what they're up to these days.

I really really hope they pull off the show. This sort of thing is EXACTLY why I was into Industrial as a kid, and why I feel almost zero kinship with modern club Industrial scene oriented crap. It is possible to have both dance music, and something to warp your brain, despite what people try to say.

I have to say I'm somewhat surprised.
When was this? I mean the reporting seemed out right sensible in this case.
No scapegoating the band, no open ended questions that are supposed to influence your opinion, no scare mongering of "are teens going crazy because of music"
When was this and was this in this universe or a parallel one?!
Re: Laibach to play North Korea
The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train at the beginning is a dead giveaway for me. It's the area where I live... The east [ San Francisco] Bay Area, California.
It also says Oakland later (same area)... And I believe the Golden Gate Bridge is in the back drop of a bay that sits behind the news anchor.
The mystery is solved...
and they would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!

But are you sure this is not in a parallel universe?!
Anyways, the hair styles tell me this must have been in the 80s or early 90s.

Well considering there was absolutely no evidence that the killer child had ever heard of Negativeland, it's still our universe.TomViolenz wrote:Being the only video from this thread that actually plays in GermanyMachinesworking wrote: Also Helter Stupid - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkgILnh-lLU

All local news outlets reported this as a fact despite no real evidence. This is the result of an experiment, what if you mention that the killer heard one of your songs and you were being investigated? Well what did happen is all local news outlets reported it as a fact without so much as investigating it at all because they didn't want their competitors to get the lead on the story!

Well I'm relieved then
I guess the band learned soon after that there is no such thing as bad publicity

Except for when they get sued by U2 and lose their recording contract.TomViolenz wrote:Well I'm relieved then

I tried to discuss Laibach without referring to politics but....nope, couldn't do it, just talking about their music is impossible, just ask MW.

Actually I could do that no problem, but I think the fact is Laibach are a band, an ideology, performance art, graphic art, and video artists as well.dazzer wrote:Indeed.TomViolenz wrote:Very to the point, I like itdazzer wrote:...

Musically they have some great moments, their covering of the Jesus Christ Super Star record is outstanding, they basically defined Martial Industrial techno whatever.
Capital and Opes Die are personal favorites, as well as WAT.
