Softube Heartbeat ... over priced?

Post by granted » Sun Sep 20, 2015 3:48 pm

I'm currently demoing Hearbeat. It's US$210.
Bad first:
First of all Heartbeat is a dumb name.
Also it's not GM compatible which always irks me. CHH is mapped to TOM (perc)
Unable to rearrange drum modules.

Good:
Really sounds good.
Includes some other Softube technology.
Easy on CPU the (unlike Tremor...)

But US$210 seems kinda pricey for a beat box with no sequencer.
Just saying.

I got it at JRRSHOP.COM for US$169.15 which seems like a fair price.

Yes, but not as much as I'd like to.
So .. You can make it kinda sound like an 808 or 909 but it's really much better as it's "own" drum machine.
It's easy to dial in new interesting sounds.
I take back what I said earlier ... it's a CPU hog. It's hog mainly because it has a built in compressor,echo/delay, and reverb!
I have a lot of drums machines and this one is a winner.
