Recommend me some mixes

Post by muthafunka » Tue Oct 27, 2015 6:41 am

Looking for 2 or 3 mixes, don't have to be super current > downbeat-ish funk, good-time electronic funk beats for grown-ups, say start around 110 bpm, up to around 120~. Good listening vibes rather than too dark or intense, party/food/drink music for funky nerd 30-somethings. Any ideas?

As a 43-year-old I have no idea what alien sounds these kids are listening to.

When I’m on my deathbed my last request will be to hear the top song of that day so I can go “Yeah, I’m done.”

I always listen to the Solid Steel weekly sets from Ninja Tune.

There are regularly two separate hour+ long mixes per week.

The genres are very diverse. If you don't see what you want one week, you can skim through and find something another.

if it were me...

and make em like it.
but 30 somethings should not have to struggle too hard.

there are another (i think) 7 total mixes in the series and the tempo goes up and down. there will be a lot of recognizable tracks in the mixes - some old, some new, some funk, some soul, some other stuff.
most have been sampled, or are the samples. so someone might know a cut as track X but really it's the original and therefore track A or vice versa... if they can put their finger on them at all. it's like subliminal nostalgia.
