2 SSD drives

Does it make sense to put an SSD for system files and software and one SSD for audio data and projects?
In other words: does the read/write rate significantly increase?

It makes sense, but read/write rate would only improve if your one SSD can't keep up as of now. If it can't, what the *** are you doing on your machine?

There's also the added benefits of separating projects from the system disk.

I use the laptop for video and audio production. HD video needs sometimes quite a lot of ressources.

My original plan was another: I wanted to use the SSD as main drive, and put the 2.5" HD in an ultrabay and replace the CD drive with the HD that was originally in my laptop.
The HD has some stupid screws that make impossible to put it in the HD caddy.

Installing the SSD had really noticeable advantages in the general speed of the computer, but also in loading big livesets.

So, I would install another 500 GB drive, and put the projects there.

This seems to be the better option at this moment, but I was wondering if the advantages could be similar to those reached with two classic HD.

Because the SSD are much faster, this advantage could be less important in my case...

Watch the IO graphs for your disk when your computer is busy. This will tell you for sure.
