Goodbye Ableton
After mounting frustration with this product, I'm quitting Ableton for good.
I work with Music Technology and I'm afraid I can't recommend this product.

Seeya then. Your contributions will be greatly missed
Re: Goodbye Ableton
You can't put a comment up like that and not elaborate! That's a bit unfair for Ableton, the company. A lot of people work in Music Tech and they are happy with the product.musictechguy wrote:After mounting frustration with this product, I'm quitting Ableton for good.

In what way are you using Live, that you are not happy with?
It's alright, forget it! I've just done a search & read your previous post's! Yes you have had a hard time.... none of which I've had, unlucky. Sorry to hear you are going.

Specifically What do you not like about Ableton?
Re: Goodbye Ableton
LOl a Music technology guy who can't get his stuff to work, I wouldn't recommend you either.

Don't forget to unmount the frustration before quit. It may cause hardware damage otherwise.musictechguy wrote:After mounting frustration with this product, I'm quitting Ableton for good.
Re: Goodbye Ableton
Ableton is kind of a frustrating product to learn but not that bad. Once you get the hang of it, the workflow is awesome especially using a Push controller.
To me, the beauty of the product is the flexibility to create things quickly on the fly and custom edit sounds in a million different ways.
But to me, the free Garage Band software that comes with Apple is ever more frustrating and far worse product!
I plan to keep using it but also get Cubase for the arrangement and composing functions that has over Ableton.

Live 9 is pretty solid for me so far. Maybe you didn't have any luck. If you're not able to fix the issues and willing to give it another try maybe you'll have more luck with your next DAW.musictechguy wrote:After mounting frustration with this product, I'm quitting Ableton for good.

C'mon Live isn't for everyone. If you have very specific requirements for the line of work you do Live may not cut it. Despite some issues it's best and most productive choice of DAW to me. This doesn't have to be so for everyone else.login wrote:LOl a Music technology guy who can't get his stuff to work, I wouldn't recommend you either.
Make some music!
Re: Goodbye Ableton
Live ain't the DAW for everybody, and that's right!!!!
I come from working with Cubase for around 20 yrs or so. At first it was hard to get grip on Live and Push 2, but after a few weeks you get to understand the workflow. Some things still are not that easy with Live as it was with Cubase, but I can put my self over that, because I want to make the transition to Live. In fact when I am going to build my next PC, I proberly won't install Cubase anymore. It is an older version anyway (5.5 from 8 years back).
As far as I can say is goodbye and have fun with making music one way or the other!!!!
