You're price from updating from Live 8 is how much? I am thinking about not updating from Live 9. For me it's 199 euros when I do it now (discount, normal price 249).
For 199 I can get Logic X which has better amp simulators pedals, that amazing Drummer and many other stuff.

To each his/hers own. I can see it would be more useful having both Live 9 and LogicX, but I'm all in with
Live.
It looks like am converting my Intro to Standard though, and selling my Suite license (below). Almost closed the deal.

Because of Apple developer libraries I think. There's now 10.11, 10.12 and 10.13. Just supporting those is a lot of work.
10.10 has nothing on 10.12, if you can run that. Which yu can with some editing. It's a myth later versions are slower. It's the opposite, at least for clean installs. I'm just saying.

Apple no longer supports 10.10, that's why. Ableton can't support an OS the developer no longer does.
Yes, Logic seems better value, if it is for you then go ahead really. Ableton simply can't compete in pricing vs Logic, doesn't has the capital to offer such product at such price point, Apple does so..

Of course they could, at least in theory. It's just that it's
very costly to support many versions back. You more or less have to "translate" back some code and feature parity may not be possible in such complex software as a DAW. It's a balance I'm sure.

Original post became irrelevant, prices in the account changed.

When you don't post the euro price then it makes it difficult to asses how much that GBP figure is.

As I said.
I understand though. Obviously posting prices in both GBP and Euros is against your belief system, so please abstain.

You can now get the Cubase 9.5 Pro for $255. I think I'll pass and move to Live 10 despite not liking the upgrade price as a 9 Suite user.

I have two accounts, one quoted prices in GBP, the other in Euros. Since GBP is the currency where I live I converted Euros to GBP. Obviously it was wrong to do this!
I didn't realise Euros were the new global currency.
Edit: I didn't have my personal details for address/country in the account quoting in Euros. Once updated it now shows GBP too.
