Hi.
are there any clear prices and upgrade paths for Live 10?

i have a Live 9 suite license, all i see on this page https://www.ableton.com/en/shop/live-10/
is that I can upgrade to suite . but i already have suite i do not want to upgrade, i want to update!

so what would be the update price from live 9 suite to live 10 suite?

or does this page mean that all live 9 suite users will have live 10 intro license and have to upgrade from there? this does not seem fair :( at least they could map live 9 suite to live 10 standard or something.

that link is for the Suite 10 upgrade, and that is what it is showing. You do not own Suite 10, so it is an "upgrade", not an update.
that is the price for upgrading form Suite 9 to Suite 10 and for me that upgrade price is currently £183. For Americans I hear it is something like $239

allright i see it now.
it is aud 335.

do you guys know how long they will have this special update price? did they say when the live 10 is actually out?

here they say
http://www.factmag.com/2017/11/02/ablet ... ate-price/

"Release date

Ableton has said simply that Ableton will be released in “Q1 2018”. This could be anywhere from January 1 to March 31. Live 9 was released on March 5, 2013, so expect it to be nearer spring when Live 10 does arrive."

thanks.

The price is good until Live 10 comes out. There is no release date yet, it will be released when it's deemed ready and stable after the public beta.

The upgrade price from 9 standard to 10 is pretty damn expensive and the upgrade to Suite is just ludicrous. 8O

They should do away with the Suite and make the extras as addons. Is any Suite owner really getting any extras? It seems like you are paying more just to have your previous libraries work in Live 10. That orchestra is old and it's basically the same as the Sonivox bundle you see for $70.

I'll be holding off on this upgrade since $200+ is a lot for me to pay. New DAWs keep popping up and that pricing isn't competitive unless you compare it to Steinberg products.

i would agree on that actually.

i also have native instruments standard, and once in a while they do upgrades with 50% discount.. that makes a lot of sense.

The price is in line with the industry averages and considering the long release cycles (4 years) it is the company with less update per year costs after logic.

Consider you get the new features and probably more to come in the following period.

That's true. Users have to buy Suite to get primal feature like LFO? Because it is POWERED BY GODSEND MAX for Live!!!??? Jeebus crust.....

I don't think Ableton asks for too much. Paying for an insufficient upgrade every 4 years is so much worth it than yearly subscriptions. Let's not go there.

I believe this is an upgrade that will grow on you, even if you're unimpressed with the new instruments and multi-clip editing.

My upgraded to Suite is $239 and I think the price is kind of high for an upgrade most DAW's are 100 to 149 and I see what they are giving with this upgraded and I'm impressed but I feel it is high and I like Live a lot, but I do have to consider Ableton doesn't upgrade as much as the other DAW's so I have to choose between Reason or Live and I feel I'm going to have to save some more penny to get Live I do have more fun with it I hope the price doesn't change before I get the money saved up.

...and keep in mind that with live 9's introduction, Ableton introduced a lot of workflow and feature enhancements with minor updates. So this is just the beginning of 10.
