Room Acquistics Convolution Reverb

Post by ergino » Mon Jan 08, 2018 10:40 am

Hi,
has anybody use Abelton IR Measurement Device and Convolution Reverb for room aquistics issues?
i do not know if its a bad idea or not but there are several room response measurement softwares out there but all of them is just using some final EQ adjustment.

but if im not wrong convolution reverb is somehow "modelling" a room with a more precise way with a Inpulse response. Or more precise IR curve other than correction EQ curve.

if we measure Inpulse response our and take the inverse of if and apply to master bus with Convolution Reverb then should we eliminate our room boost/cuts?

i mean:

1-Use Abelton Max IR measurement Device and measure your rooms Inpulse Response. ( lets say name it "Room")
2-Somehow take the inversion of it (name it reverseRoom)
3-Apply that ReverseRoom inpulse response to Convolution Reverb for master bus.

than your room response should be flat.

what do you think?
