Best 27" Monitor for Ableton use (QHD vs 4K)?

I'm looking to get a new 27" monitor for the new Mac Mini I plan to buy soon.

Ideally it would have a USB-C input, but that's not essential.

Currently I have a 22" 1080 monitor, and of course use Ableton as my DAW.

Looking at threads on other forums, many people tend to suggest not getting a 4K monitor for a 27" screen, as the text would appear too small at native resolution.

Instead some suggest getting a 2560 x 1440 (QHD) monitor.

Seeing as there are not too many QHD monitors out there, and given that some 4K monitors are actually cheaper than QHD, I was wondering if it makes sense to get a native QHD or native 4K monitor (and downscale to QHD)?

Thoughts, recommendations anyone?

27" @ 4K would definitely be overkill for me. however, if you aren't going to use the native resolution, then i don't think it makes sense to get a 4K monitor and downscale. for starters, 4K does not downscale neatly to QHD (the aspect ratio is different).

for the past 10 years, i've been happy with Dell Ultrasharp monitors, and they have a number of 27" QHD monitors in their range.

also, check out reviews and tests of monitors before you buy, don't buy based on price alone. for example, two monitors might have the same panel, but one might skimp on the electronics driving the panel.
