Best 3rd Party Monitor / TV for Macbook Pro

Hi

I am currently looking at switching my setup to a Macbook Pro (already owned) for portability but would like to get a really decent monitor for the studio.

The Macbook Pro has a HDMI port so I guess I could also consider a 4k TV for the purpose?

This may be cheaper than going down the Thunderbolt path (I don't have the space for 2 screens either)

Something wide would be nice.

I thought I'd ask on here to see what others are using - any recommendations & are there any particular issues / pitfalls I should look at avoiding?
