Midi is being over recorded when I try to record automation

Post by Ajraf101 » Sat Jan 26, 2019 10:26 pm

Hey guys,
I'm having two issues with recording automation using the arrangement view.

I'm using Arturia's Prophet V3.
I have armed the instrument, the automation record button and pressed the main record button.

1. when I start recording the midi is overwritten and emptied
2. I have mapped the instrument to a controller(M-Audio Oxygen25) and it works but the automation is only triggered when I use the mouse to move the parameters on the soft-synth.

I cannot figure this one out! Please help!

Thank you!

I figured it out :P
I'll leave this here in case anyone needs it.

Using the Arturia instruments there is a configure button on the insert window.
I clicked the configure button.
Next I click on the parameters I wished to map
I then closed the instruments and used the midi icon (top right in Ableton) to midi map my controller
I then disarmed the instrument and woohoo it worked!
Hope this helps someone else out!
