Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?
Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?
Just asking if an older core 2 duo laptop would be ok for Live 10.1?
I have a c2d 2.4ghz with Windows 10 64 and thinking of adding an internal ssd and 8gb
I don’t really use any vst plug ins apart from a few fx as I use a lot of simplers
Just asking if this would work ok as I know it won’t be the fastest machine in the world while I look for a Mac
Thanks

Re: Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?
Have you tried running a demo to see how it goes?
EDIT: Sorry, just noticed this was specifically asking about 10.1, not 10. I'd imagine it would perform much the same.

Yes good idea, but my laptop still has a standard old drive and 4GB on Windows 10 32, so if this was worth it (or not) then i'd upgrade everything before installingjustanametouse wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 12:21 pmHave you tried running a demo to see how it goes?

Heres the system recommendations:
"OS X 10.11.6 or later
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor (Intel® Core™ i5 processor or faster recommended)
4 GB RAM (8 GB or more recommended)"
L10.1 is running the same as L10, so yeah grab the demo and see how it performs on your machine.

Well, core 2 duo is the absolute minimum and that's what you have.
Install the demo and let us know. Don't expect it to run like a charm though.
One solution would be to find a second-hand copy of say Live 8 or 7 which surely would run better on an older machine.

yes i do currently have and still use Live 9.7.7 whether that would be a better solution?[jur] wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 4:07 pmWell, core 2 duo is the absolute minimum and that's what you have.

I have an old Macbook air 2014 which seemed to work fine as long as I didn't use too many softsynths.buckman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 8:13 amJust asking if an older core 2 duo laptop would be ok for Live 10.1?

Things like Reaktor would make it beg for mercy.
