Buying Ableton 10 Serial Number From Friend

Currently I have Ableton 9 Suite, and my friend offered to sell me one his Ableton 10 serial numbers, if I were to enter the serial number he gives me will all my VSTS and samples from my current Ableton 9 be transferred to the new Ableton 10. Or should I just buy the Ableton 10 upgrade.

This will work like a 2nd license, not like an update.
Your best bet is to contact support@ableton to see what's possible.
