I use both Bitwig 3.2 and Live 10.1 - I find Bitwig faster generally (loading, scanning VSTS etc) and I get better results with Bitwig in terms of CPU and latency with the same buffer size (I am on Windows 10 64 bit i7 SSD). Bitwig has improved a lot 'under the hood' since V2.
how are you quantifying "better results"? have you carried out systematic tests to compare them?

I use them both, often both in the same day...so you get a feel for things,.

CPU use- very quick and dirty (it was only for my own interest having recently updated tom 10) - used Serum, picked a quite demanding patch, played notes until it crackled audibly. Live was 7 notes, Bigwig 10 (I ran out of fingers then, but it did crackle!)

Scanning VSTs after changes took ages in Live (and it just lumps them all together, doesn't even split out instruments and fx), load time are about the same if it doesn't scan (around 10 seconds) but it always seems to want to scan before it loads (I think Bigwig loads and then does it in the background).
DAW: Bitwig, Live, Studio One via an X32 desk: Instruments: modular and analogue stuff, guitars, basses and drums.

I just tested Bitwig (for the first time, since you guys made me curious),
so I loaded a short loop and Acustica Erin Stereo EQ.

Bitwig almost crashed.

I run an iMac i9 3,6ghz octacore, Catalina 10.15

could you explain, why this happened?

thanks!

you have no idea what you're doing using Bitwig. it's just a cheap shot.

is this a DAW shootout thread or just troll thread?
