Ableton is constantly adding cool new features and making the DAW better too, saying otherwise is simply a lie.

We got Spectral Textures, Vibrations and Stray Cats like a month ago.

Devs like pATCHES are releasing cool shit regularly.

There are so many M4L devices released on maxforlive.com that I can't keep up.

Right now I have sixty (60) amxd files in my download folder that I downloaded recently and haven't checked yet (oldest was downloaded April 16, so in the last month more than 60 M4L devices were released, more than 2 PER DAY).

For example, the maximedangles and Gradient lite, they look cool, downloaded but haven't had time to check them them in Live:

Just look at this M4L device that may be coming soon:

A tool that uses spleeter to split stems, BUT REAL-TIME. (EDIT: It is actually a VST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnKFwxDqAdo )

OH, AND OF COURSE THE ISOTONIK FREEBIES, like 10 of those so far? Those are GREAT, one of their devs posts regularly here.

EDIT: This twitter bot is nice to keep track of the new M4L devices added to maxforlive.com:

Honest, the level of ignorance about how much cool sh*t Live already has and how much cool new sh*t it constantly gets is just ridiculous.

To be fair, I can't remember it all either, it is just a huge amount of stuff.

EDIT: If you have suggestions for Live , post them in the Feature Wishlist subforum or in Suggestion section of the Centercode Beta site.

Most DAWS have pretty decent free updates. Ableton generally do pretty well here.

The curves and shapes where pretty big, along with much easier sidechaining and VST3 support.

I'm guessing this is a trolly-type post, but I'll happily feed you.

I'm sure FL has great free updates. I KNOW Logic (that I can't use to save my life) has great free updates - especially 10.5 the other day.

Ableton - I loved all the free updates, no complaints. But I've also loved the upgrades, too. The Push 2 integration is simply spectacular and keeps getting better.

Yea and push 2 costs 800$ It should be good. People have been asking for the ability to freeze groups for ages and it still hasn't happened. Lot of people are asking for unlimited or more collections. I've seen people asking for more macros on racks. Options to make vocal comp editing faster like in protools is another request you see often. The last 3 things wouldn't even be hard to add but still haven't happened. There is plenty of room for improvement in Live.

Yup, certainly room for improvement, mate, but there's always room with anything I guess.

After messing more and more with hardware recently, I'd venture out and say Push 2 integration is beyond good. It's amazing - it turns Live into another beast completely. Expensive yes. Worth it? Absolutely (for me, at least).
