Ableton is the worst music software ever
Cuts out, freezes every HP it's touched. Cannot run a keystation88 without fritzing. Terrible for any acoustic or live performer. Obviously built for djs to mix. Save your money and buy another software company!

lol
ctrl + left/right = select transient
ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients
ctrl + space = play selection

Obviously coming from someone that cannot use a spellchecker, is in itself a rather pathetic statement.Joe maddox wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 11:10 amCuts out, freezes every HP it's touched. Just because you cannot use it. or set it up, makes you terrible rather than the software. Many other musicians use it in live situations.

You forgot to put it in ALL CAPS. No one will take your rant seriously if you aren't shouting.

Good one!
Re: Ableton is the worst music software ever
If it's the worst then how I was able to perform my live performance sets way back in 2007 on a shitty laptop??
Re: Ableton is the worst music software ever
So true, had my share of audio problems in the past. All due to settings in Windows, most of the time it is Windows related or driver related. I think Ableton Live is pretty solid!!!!

Recommend posting this on the FL Studio forum lol.
I have had moments like yours mate. CPU getting crushed, desperately trying to keep it under 100%, crashes, plugins not working well with it etc.
But then I look back to when I was using ProTools as a sound engineer a few years back & am grateful for how Ableton has enabled me to create music (2 singles released since I started in October 2020 and 48 tracks lined up) & develop much faster as a producer than I ever dreamed possible.
I haven't experimented with Live at gigs (cheers covid, you imbecile) but if deadmau5 uses it, I am confident it works.
Give it another go & use the awesome community to help you succeed!

Re: Ableton is the worst music software ever
My experience varies a lot...
on OSX it's outstanding, but my experience on windows didn't go very well. I moved to Ableton live with the idea
of escaping from Mac into PCs ... but under the same audio card (UMC404HD) ... and much higher CPU & RAM specs,
Ableton on the PC (with card native ASIO drivers) did perform horribly... I'll blame the windows ASIO subsystem?, may
be my card has crappy drivers?.....
On OSX/MAC I can work with very low buffer, and it's all quite stable (of course don't throw iZotope's Ozone on the master track ),
but on windows I had to move the buffer to the maximum ...
In the end, even if I went back to Mac, I'm staying with Live because of the live-performance features and tunability that LogicX for example doesn't have...

Thats probably more to do with your cards drivers, writing dedicated drivers isnt Behringers strong point.mangelajo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:01 pmMy experience varies a lot...

I use a Scarlett 18i20 2nd gen with no issues other than making sure its on its own USB port, not via a hub. many variations of the Scarlett range makes at least 1 that will fit your needs/budget.

I used Novation Nio 2:4 for a long time (win7-win10) bit dated now and it took a beating, but was really solid, no issues and still runs.
I replaced it was the Novation Audiohub 2:4 - but I did find I often had troubles opening it in ableton.
Generally I've always found Novation reliable with the one above exception.
I'm now using the MPC One as my audio interface and it seems really good (at that, although I'm struggling with it as a controller/standalone/other stuff a bit)
