Good resolution for ultrawide monitor

Post by MR79 » Sat Feb 20, 2021 8:59 pm

Does 2560x1080 is enough for Live 9 with a 29" ultrawide monitor? 8O
I'm interested by the LG 29WL500-B
Thank you! :)

Well the Ableton specs state a resolution minimum: 1366x768 display.

The one you have detailed has numbers bigger than this so it will work for Live.

2560x1080 is just an extra wide HD monitor tho, so no high-res or anything and it is also less resolution than using dual 1080P displays so technically, you would have more flexibility using a dual display setup than a wide monitor unless you get a super wide monitor... so really depends what your needs are but in short, Live will be fine, it will just display more on the screen because it is wider. Personally if I was buying an ultra-wide monitor as a new monitor i'd prob look at a higher resolution to make it more worthwhile, but that increases the cost.

Thanks.

But with higher resolution, the characters will be smaller or bigger? I don't want something too thin...

And higher resolution is not more interesting with bigger monitor like 32" minimum? 2560x1080 is not enough for a 29"?
