Clipping Feature

Post by SamStellar » Thu Apr 07, 2022 12:11 am

I think they added in a clipping feature in the latest hotfix of Ableton Live 11 Standard.
The feature uniquely has a jarring cutting sound which is different from vinyl distortion.

It is helpful in letting people know when their mix is clipping.
It unfortunately for some reason continues to clip even if it is soloed.

Aka the total amount of volume is the only actual clipping going on in my mix, but because the mix itself
is clipping I'm not able to print/stem out the layer as it - or even if i was able to print the layer I would not know if the vinyl distortion was in the mix as the 'jarring cutting sound' described sort of covers the sound.

Anyone have a workaround or some potential insight?

Nope, you might be mixing things up. What would a "clipping feature" be, btw?
