Hi There,
I am a Windows user and I am having issues sporadically with a crackling sound in my headphones and in the monitors when I have Ableton Live open. I am using Ableton Live 10 Lite, and have just downloaded Ableton Live 11 free trial for 90 days.
The sound issue only occurs when I have Live open (10/11) , otherwise there is no crackling. There have been times when I have been able to use Ableton without the crackling - but after I close the system and reopen I tend to have the issue again. It use to be that I could restart the computer a few times and it would eventually work, but now that doesn't even work.
I found a video on YouTube and I followed the instructions on how to set up Windows 10 for Ableton Live (reliable source), but the issue still persists.
Can anyone assist?

Re: Crackling in Monitors and Headphones
What buffersize do you use?
Is Windows running the same samplerate ie. 48 khz or 44.1 khz for example as Live
I’m running a 5 year old i7-7700 Intel with 16 gb ram at 64 samples buffersize 24bit @ 44.1 khz with a Focusrite 18i20 3rd gen interface.
If I go to mixing stage I sometimes increase the buffersize to 256 samples, but that’s it…….
Windows likes it when you set the samplerate at multiples of 16 ie. 16, 32, 64 etc samples
Personally I seldom use more than 44,1 khz as samplerate, but I use 24 bit.
Good enough for me, but ymmv.
