Bug with Backing up / Cancelling action on UAD/VST devices

I'm running Live 8 on XP SP3 :

I got a bug that occurs very often, I already reported it in previews versions:

It's happening on all the recent betas I tried, and past versions too.

The cancel action (Ctrl+z) doesn't not work for each action, depending on what device I'm using. (not with Live devices, only with ext. VSTs)

I experienced it with at least UAD Cambridge EQ, UAD Realverb, Izotope Ozone 3 and Sylenth 1, but I'm sure it could occurs with many others.

Live just can't remember when :

- changing anything on UAD Cambridge EQ
- changing anything on UAD Realverb
- changing a whole preset on Sylenth 1, or changing a modulation parameter in the scrolling menus (it works when moving a simple parameter)
- changing anything on Izotope Ozone 3

and so on ...

Sometime the action to be cancelled is in the Edit menu but nothing happens when clicking "cancel" for this one.

Please note that all that actions are LOST too each time that Live crashes as the programm back up all actions when re opening a set, making users loosing hours of work when he did not hit save every ten minutes ...

this bug is 100 % reproductible, thank you for helping.

Maybe you will get more attention when you use terms like crack, serialz, warez, keygen, etc.

You should place them in your post almost unvisible, maybe like this: crack

Cheers guys,

this is a known issue. Currently, Undo doesn't work correctly for non-configured plug-in parameters.
For plug-ins with up to 32 parameters, they get configured automatically and Undo should work as expected. Plug-ins with more than 32 parameters however load with unconfigured parameters. Here, Undo won't work correctly and will lead to random results.

For now, you should configure the needed parameters manually using the corresponding button in Live's native plug-in device, and for all those configured parameters, Undo should work correctly again.
Please have a look into Live's manual, chapter 16.2.1, for more information on this.

Please remind to always contact us directly under support@ableton.com with any issues and problems you have with Live. We don't check the forums regularly.
Regards,

Torsten
